Sorry if this question has been previously asked, but I’ve searched all through this forum and haven’t been able to find any relevant results.

I’m currently working on a 1080 24p project, which I’d eventually like to convert down to 720×480, for DVD. What type of workflow should I be using to produce the best results when converting the footage from 1920×1080 to 720×480? Currently I’m working in Vegas with project settings at 1920×1080 / 24p, and then rendering to an uncompressed .avi at 720×480 / 24p, which I then render to mpeg-2 in ProCoder. Are there any programs or settings I can use to ensure a quality conversion when stepping down from HD to DVD, or is Vegas good enough?

    Thanks!

Not having any direct experience with procoder, I’d give a shot rendering from Vegas directly to a 24p mpeg2. It’s been good enough for me in the past, and if your “clients” are screaming for best quality… well I know I’d pay a premium for a 1080p bluray of Doom House.
