    Hey, Guys.

So I shot some cool stuff using the Sony FS700 hi frame rate capability. You can set it up to shoot 240fps which plays back at 1/10 speed. Very cool.

So I’ve got these great, HD, 1/10 speed files that I want to make my little movie with. I’d like the footage to play mostly at 100% of real time (so 1000% speed for the files the camera produces) and then just use the slow motion effects to highlight certain elements, ramping down and then back up again.

What’s the best way to do this? I’ve fiddled a bit with the Speed/Duration… dialog, but there’re no controls for ramping speed up or down there. Is there? I’ve also been trying out the Time Remapping, but I’m not sure if there’s a way to make the speed go over 100%.

What I’ve been doing today is making a rough edit, nesting that sequence, speeding up the resulting sequence to 1000% in Speed/Duration… which has the movie playing at a normal speed now. Then using the Time Remaping to slow down the parts I need in slo-mo.

How does this sound to you guys? It seems kind of klunky, and I’m concerned about a loss of quality somewhere. Is this the correct way to go or is there a better way of doing this?

    Thanks so much!

You can time remap from 1% to 1000%.

They way to do this, is to zoom into your clip in your timeline (stretch your V1/V2 lines etc higher if need be so you can see the white line through your clip) Click on the FX button at the top of your clip, and select Motion > speed. That line is now your speed, Click here for screen shot8149_screenshot20141028at10.58.12am.png.zip

You can add markers by holding down command (if your using mac) to get a + on your pointer, and can increase/decrease speed between markers. Drag your prongs apart at the top to gradually in/decrease speed ramp.

    This make Sense?

    Oh, man! Thanks so much!

I spent a little time fiddling around and got it to work just like I wanted. I’d been trying to put a number in a field, but hadn’t quite figured out how to push the little line around and stretch out the little markers and stuff.

    It looks great now though.

    Thanks!
