What’s the best way to cut a dialogue scene with no audio?
This is my first post here, and since it’s not a particularly technical question I’m not sure if this is the right forum to post this in.
I recently started syncing sound on my first feature film and all of the audio for an important dialogue scene is completely lost. Normally in this situation, I’d just use the camera’s audio to cut with then ADR it, but since this scene is a car interior shot from the outside, the generator and other noises over power the camera audio to the point where I can’t hear anything the actors are saying.
Outside of reshoots, what’s the best way of editing this scene?
The only thing I can think of is doing ADR for each take from each angle. The scene is less than two minutes and covered in four shots, with two to three takes per shot.

well, that’s no that much footage.
Just take the best takes (visually), have the actors dub the entire takes, sync and edit.

Why wouldn’t you just cut the scene, then ADR it, so that, if and when anyone’s mouth isn’t visible when they are talking, it’ll be easy to add that dialogue cuz you won’t have to match it.
