What’s the best way to capture web audio & footage?
I have a client who needs some of his TV interviews placed into a video I’m creating. He doesn’t have the original footage from the news casts but the clips are on the web. I’ve used the Quicktime screen recording and audio recording options but the audio is not good at all in either circumstance and the footage is only OK. Can someone recommend a different method? Thank you so much.

Mainline websites like YouTube, or all over the place?

Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2014 (as of 7/2015)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF. -
It would be more effective to download the videos rather than trying to capture. The bigger question is whether the client owns any of the rights to the content. It might be more appropriate to license the footage and get high quality copies.

They are all over the place. Most of them are on the news channels’ own page.

Most of the clips are a few years old. He is not using them for commercial rights. How would I download them? I have not looked into licensing the footage since it’s not for commercial purposes.

When I need to capture from a web stream which is not available as a download I use iShowU HD. Has worked great.
