Hello everyone, I am shooting a multicam proformance with 2 DVX 100a’s and a HVX 200. The show consist of 32 individual proformances @ 10-15 min. each. Thats roughly 8-10 hours of footage per camera. 1st question is there a P2 card that will hold that much info and if so where can I rent one from. For the DVX’s what should I look into renting to record all of the footage onto. I am trying to find the best solution so that I do not have to digitize 30 hours of tape again this time around. 3rd question are the P2 cards and FIrestores dependable? And if going that route, should I backup each camera by recording onto tape at the same time, just to be safe?

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks Bobby

Quite frankly, if you don’t want a logistical nightmare on your hands during the shoot, record to tape and digitize later. Also, record the HVX in the SD mode and go to tape. If you have a set of firestores with enough capacity, that might be an out but all you need is one glitch and you’re screwed.

When we shoot multi-day seminars, we use Pioneer DVD recorders and roll to the 100GB hard drive and sort it out later.

This is a big job and the only way to make money is to keep your labor time to a minimum.

    Good luck
