  • What’s the best book on Motion Graphics/Design Theory???

    Hey all!

I’m looking to kick my career up a notch by finally understanding the “whys” behind all the stuff I do in After Effects. I need a good book (one with lots of color and illustration, preferrably) on Design Theory, especially as it relates to broadcast design and motion graphics. Aharon, I know you teach some courses. What do you use?

I don’t want a “how to” book on a specific program. I want to get better at color selection, composition, emotion, etc.

    Thanks everybody!

For basic graphic design theory (static), the books by Wucius Wong are quite good.

It’s hard to appreciate motion design when it’s static, even if it’s broken down and storyboarded. How can you appreciate the timing of things on a static page?
