what’s our favourite monitor to accompany Matrox MXO?
Hi All
I am about to grab an MXO, and will also be geting a new monitor at some point in the next 10 days or so.
The thing is validated to work with an Apple Cinema 23″ – not seemingly a 30″ unfortunately. What is our favourite monitor for HD viewing and grading for MXO purposes?
I feel a bit weird about the Apple Cinema 23″ because the product is nearing 3 or 4 years of age and I feel sure that there has to be more bang for my buck out there. Or does the 23″ Cinema display have special colorific properties of which I am ignorant???

When it comes to COMPUTER monitors and the MXO, the ACD is your best bet/ Just because it is a few years old, doesn’t mean that it won’t work. The MXO was designed to work with the ACD. I have gotten it to work with the Dell 2405, but it doesn’t look as good as the ACD.
Now, you can get a PROPER HD LCD to use with the MXO, like the JVC DTV 24L2D. That is the best LCD for the $$ you spend. The TV Logics are better, but twice as much.
But as far as inexpensive goes, the MXO and ACD are your best bet. When they update the model, they might add a NEW LCD type or manufacturer, and the MXO won’t work with that one well, because it was designed for the earlier model. This is EXACTLY what happend to eCinema when they made a box that worked with the Apple display. The newer model changed LCDs and made the box useless.
