New buttons to map to your keyboard or button bar that let you select all clips to the Right or Left of your Position Indicator on selected tracks (like FCP), or between In and Out points on selected tracks (which I can’t get to work right).

    Some bug fixes.

Support for some format of XDCam (not sure which, I’ve never used XDCam).

Generate a report of your clips and/or sequences. Great if you work offline/online so you can see what clips were used, what effects, etc…

Here’s the Readme. It has more.

    From the README…

The following features have been added to this release of the editing application.
    • You can select multiple segments on enabled tracks using the multiple segment selection
buttons. See “Selecting Multiple Segments” on page4.
    • You can now generate reports on sequence and clip information. See “Sequence and
Clip Information Summary” on page5 and “Creating a Summary of Effects and Source
    Information” on page6.
    • You can disable the locator edit window. See “Disabling the Locator Edit Window” on
    page10.
    • XDCAM HD 50mb is now supported with this release. See “XDCAM Formats and
Resolutions” on page12 and “Working with XDCAM HD Media” on page12.
    • (Macintosh) XDCAM Workflow change. See “XDCAM Batch Importing Workflow
    Change” on page13.
    • With this editing application release we support Grass Valley™ K2™ using the Grass
Valley K2 templates for digital cuts using insert edit.

Hmm sounds good, especially the ‘select from here’. Shane as an FCP user I bet you like that one.

Will the bug fixes stop it from hanging when quitting on the Mac I wonder?

And would I be mad to upgrade from 3.0 mid project? (I guess I know what you’ll say to that one!)

Do you have a spare hard drive you can close your current one to?

If you do, clone your drive, boot off the clone to make sure it works, then upgrade. I upgraded as soon as it was released (well, the next morning) and I have about 3 projects going right now with a few more to start in the coming weeks. No issues so far (disclaimer–I’m on a PC, not a Mac).

I’m not sure why you system is hanging when you quit MC. I haven’t heard of that issue. What are your system specs?

    Michael.
