  • what would be the best video defaults for me in final cut pro?

I am making animations using stop motion and exporting as 4:3 with a canon 40D at medium res 2816 X 1880. Is this too high? or low? I want to make HD films for TV and cinemas. Can anyone suggest what video defaults I should set Final cut to. for output and working with. Also how to output and change the overlay so I know what the output ratio will be at 19:6. How to resize/crop. etc? the whole sequence rather than an element. I have taken all the jpg images so that I am assuming a 19:6 crop will be happening and with the correct overlay in Stop motion. HD is not 4:3

Suggest you pre-process images with photshop to correct size

    Can be scripted

    1920 X 1080 or 1280 X 720

Then use Pro-Res square pixel settings.

Thx … Would that be Pshop batch processable? or Adobe Bridge? It will take me ages to open and close each image. At present I don’t think that croping images is available as a batch process, by default on the drop down menu. But I would think to start with these images the right size would be a great solution.

Also there are about 30 different Pro res settings, is there a link to more information as to what these mean and which ones I should choose. Thx
