If I remember correctly Vegas Pro 8 only supports up to one particular version of Apple ProRes. I might be wrong, but I think you’re going to have to upgrade to Vegas Pro 12. Pro 8 is so old, and the Black Magic is really a brand new design, i’d be shocked if it worked with 8 without down-converting the footage you’re going to capture.

ps- make sure your computer has enough power to handle the clips that camera can record.

dear Dave i thank you very much for your kind answer

i still use the vegas 8 for a couple of years now and i am still happy

please, let me explain that the main reason i want to buy the blackmagic pocket cinema camera is for the exchangeable lenses it offer

my grand father have an extensive range of pentax k-mount and compatible pentax k mount lenses (prime, zoom, telefoto) and it is a good idea to use any of those lenses with the blackmagic camera

also, i am not interested at all in any hd video and i still use my little minidv sony dcr-hc62 with really good results

so, if i be able still use my vegas 8 with the footage from blackmagic pocket camera would be really nice

no, my pc is not so power, it is just a little celeron g530 with 4 gb ddr3 ram and a 250 hd wd hd

it’s performance is quite good on sd video renderings

    thanks again
