  • What to do for 16:9 footage?

I have dvx100b squeezed footage shot what should I do to set up my timeline for 16:9 and exporting at 16:9. I’m going to author it in Encore thus far I thought I had everything right in Avid but Encore doesn’t seem to reconize it is a 16:9 dvd. My problem could be with Encore?

    Thank you very much.

Yes, it is in Encore. You need to set it up the encode parameters for the MPEG to have the 16:9 anamorphic flag. The menus and such have their own 16:9 setting at the botton of the properties pane.

Also, depends on how you are encoding the video to MPEG2. If you are feeding Encore mpeg2 elementary streams, you need to tell your encoder (Sorenson, Procoder, etc..) that your footage is 16×9. Encore then picks this up and will show the asset as being 16×9. If Encore is doing the encoding, you’ll need to do likewise.
