Hi all, with each passing day I’m getting better and adjusting to Davinci Resolve. I am very happy with my system, but I know I have to go to work to improve things more smoothly. Now I’m working with h.264 files and am now begun with the 5D MRK3 RAW Footage.

    My pc:

    -i7-3930K
    -Asus P9X79-WS
    -Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB OC
    -32GB G.Skill 1600Mhz-
    -Corsair AX750W
    -Noctua D14 SE-2011
    -Cooler Master HAF-X

    -Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bits

    C: 256GB Samsung 840 PRO (Os / App)
    D: 2x Caviar Black 1TB RAID 0 (Media / Projects / Cache)
E: Caviar Black 1TB (Export / Media Cache)
    F: Caviar Green 1TB (D: Backups)
G: Caviar Green 500GB (Music, movies, etc.)

    -Dell UltraSharp-3014 (Calibration) (main monitor)
-Philips (I do not remember the exact model is 19 “and is 10 years old. I use it for scopes, and Premiere Pro for the media)

My first idea was to add new drives . As 2x 256gb Samsung Pro 840 , or just a SSD, or more HDDs. Or a second GPU. Maybe a BlackMagic Hardware.

What do I need to use a third monitor as a reference?

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits or Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bits?

    Thank You

Could someone recommend me what would be the best optimal settings of the hard disk ?

Hi, your system looks nice, a good gpu and mobo.

If I were you I’d get a Blackmagic Ultrastudio SDI card or an Intensity card with USB3 interface, to output your image via HDMI or SDI to a grading monitor, which could be a good quality calibrated plasma display, Panasonic VT50 series for example. Or better still, a Sony OLED or some other reference monitor.

A GPU with 3-6 GB VRAM would also be great, especially if you’re working with larger than HD image sizes in the future. You may need a larger power supply with 2 GPU:s.
