What should I do about going from FCP 6 to 7

But let me explain my situation and see what you guys think I should do. I have edited my entire movie on FCP 6 and now I have to do some audio corrections. I am meeting a guy this evening to help me with this and he wants to use the new Soundtrack Pro w/ FCP 7. My thought is to move my project to another HD and do the Soundtrack edits and then once we are done with audio, export it as an AIFF file. Then put that AIFF file onto my original HD and import that back into FCP 6… what do you guys think?

FCP 6 projects will open in 7. So take your drive with media and copy of the project file – open the project in 7 – send to STP – mix and export as aif – put aif back on drive – go home open your project and import aif – drop into timeline – job done.

Create a copy of your project too, so you still have your version 6 project.
