WHAT SETTINGS TO USE TO EDIT HD FOOTAGE?
I SHOT SOME FOOTAGE USING THE PANASONIC HVX 200, AND I HAVE THE FOOTAGE IN FCP, BUT I DON’T GET ANY AUDIO WHEN I TRY TO PLAY IT BACK. I HAVE AUDIO, I’M CERTAIN WHEN I PUT THE CLIPS ON THE TIMELINE ONLY ONE AUDIO TRACK SHOWS AND IT’S MONO, BUT THERE’S NO LEVELS AND IT SHOULD BE TWO. I’M EDITING WITH “FCP 4.5”. I TRIED TO SET THE SETTINGS TO DVCPRO HD 1080i @ 24fps AND THE FOOTAGE WOULDN’T FIT INTO THE ENTIRE FRAME, SO I USED THE DEFAULT 720×480 SETTINGS. COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT I’M DOING WRONG.

Compare the clip’s properties to the sequence setting you’re using. they must match exactly.

[macaddict] “COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT I’M DOING WRONG.” for one, using all caps, you are yelling at us when you do, and it is harder to read.
First how were the files brought into FCP 4.5. How was the footage shoot on the HVX, you should not be guess at the settings, like Jerry said the clip and timeline settings need to be an exact match.
