I’m an editor and was just hired on by an indie director to go over scenes that him and his editor had cut to see if there are any problems. Some scenes I’ve left alone but others I’ve had to reshape. I feel like a consultant but I’m not sure what the credit would be. Perhaps Associate editor?
They’ve asked me for a credit name.. any suggestions?

When I take on similar tasks, sometimes even making major revisions, the credit I typically take is either Editorial Consultant or Post-production Consultant.

If I make legitimate contributions to the story, the former title is more appropriate. If the changes are more technical in nature, the latter credit is more appropriate.

    Hope this helps…
