  • What plug-ins are in question for CS5?

This CS5 suite announcement is a little mind boggling.
I’m making a list and trying to keep track of which plug-ins we are using and may or may not need to be upgraded and their current cost to upgrade.

This is what I have for AE so far:
    Zaxwerks: ProAnimator, 3D Flag, 3D Serpentine ?
RE:vision Effects, Inc.: Shade/Shape, PV Feather TBA
Red Giant Software: Trapcode (Particular 2, Shine, Lux, Starglow, 3D Stroke, Sound Keys) $29 each
Red Giant Software: Psunami, Plane Space (formally Digital Anarchy 3D Assistants Pro) $29 each
    CycoreFX: CycoreFX HD TBA
    Digi-element: Aurora Sky ?
GridIron Software: Nucleo Pro 2 ? (is it even necessary with 64bit CS5?)

Please add any info or your own posts that are in question. Sébastien Périer has a great running list over at his blog (https://www.yenaphe.info)

If you have any concerns about specific plug-ins, let both the plug-in maker and Michael Coleman (After Effects product manager) know. We’ve been working very closely with plug-in developers to make this transition go as smoothly as possible.

There’s a plug-in page on the Adobe website that is supposed to be updated with information about 64-bit plug-ins. Today may be a bit early to rely on that page, since we’re in the process of pushing a lot of information live this morning.

I think that the speculative rendering and other such features could still be useful.

according to a post by E. Wu at Creative Cow’s Zaxwerks forum..

    https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/41/860504

… the upgrade cost for ProAnimator will be at full upgrade cost… which based on the site should be around $199-$299… as for serpentine and 3D flag, they will also have a smaller upgrade cost associated with the 32bit to 64bbit upgrade.
