I am shooting a small indie movie in the Drama/Romantic genre and was wondering what other software I need.
I have Final Cut Pro 7
    Motion 4
    Color 1.5
    Shake
    DVD studio pro
    Soundtrack pro 3

    Hi Austin,
You only need a good filter for de-noising.
    I recommend you NeatVideo.

Rafael, do you feel that Neatvideo does a better job than the noise reduction nodes in Color?

For what? Are you doing special effects? Why do you feel you will need other software?

For sound design you’ll probably want Pro Tools and possibly Logic.

    Hi Scott,
In Color I’ve tried the Nattress de-noisers.
I wasn’t happy at all with the results. For me was very difficult to control.
Something that I don’t like of de-noising in Color, is that the de-noising should be done in the raw footage, before the CC.
This way the de-noising works better, and the CC works better.
    I’ve been using VideoPurifier too.
I think is very good but it has a big problem. It’s clips all the overexposures and under-black,
so you can not run it before CC.
For me NeatVideo is the best. Gives you full control . It’s need some practice and good monitoring Don’t use it with the default settings.
I’ve realized is that In the end is as important the noise that you clean as the noise that you let in the picture.
    Cheers,
    rafael
