what is .vf.mp4 -should I be worried for universal compatability rendering to this file format
Hi Folks
rendering to Internet HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) Main Concept AVCand just noticed that all the files have .vf integrated in the file format just before .mp4.
I am upload weekly shows to drop box for various stations with varying gear to download and broadcast. .MP4 seemed to be the most common bang for buck format without any hic ups.
Should the .vf cause me more sleepless nights?

Probably not – .vf files are the Vegas Movie Studio project files. (Like the .veg file for Vegas Pro). But it’s the lasf suffix at the end of the filename that Windows cares about. You can have all the ‘dots’ you want in the filename, as long as the last one is correct. In other words, myfile.10.12.1955.avi.mpeg.mp4 is an mp4 file.
But, in Windows applications, you can force the wrong file suffix by enclosing the filename in quotes.
I suspect that you still have Windows set to the default of hiding file suffixes – in my opinion for the completely computer illiterate because it causes more problems than it supposedly solves.
