Premiere Rush is the iMovie of the Adobe CC. It’s for people who don’t know how to edit and don’t want to take the time to learn a real NLE.

but nevertheless sucked up all the budget that could have been used to improve Premiere Pro ☹

Adobe may want to cover the YouTube generation, and that’s fine, but can they reach them with a subscription ? Given they already cover that sector with Premiere Elements?

It may also cover that familiar Software trope that if you could only start over you could end the limitations caused by an inherited architecture. So Rush could be the future Pro.

I thought Rush was the mobile version for phones and tablets. Allowed you to start a project there and either finish it there, or move it over to Premiere on a computer for finishing.

I haven’t tried it. Hard for me to imagine instances where I’d want to. “Maybe” it could work in an instance of doing a quick and dirty mock-up with phone footage with a quick test edit as a proof-of-concept? Maybe?
