  • What is the best Full Rez/Uncompressed FCP export setting to use?

Posted by Adam Davis on July 13, 2009 at 10:06 pm

    Hey guys,

I am trying to figure out the best quicktime settings to use to get a Full Rez quicktime that will ultimately be output to DVCPro50 via Avid. I typically like using the Quicktime Movie option (self-contained) under File-Export option menu, but will Avid Media Composer be able to recognize and work with this file type?

Also, this is a SD project that was shot on mini DV.

Let me know if you need anymore info or have any suggestions.

    Thanks!!!

Animation codec tends to be a favorite for sharing with Avid.

If you search the Cow you’ll find links to Avid codecs that when installed on your Mac will allow you to export files from FCP that Avid can use.
