Is outline text better in some way? IF so, how come?

Ive never used it before, but someone just told me that normal text renders badly, but outline text renders sharper.

    Is this true?

Outline just puts a black (or color) border around the text. It makes subtitles easier to read particularly against bright backgrounds. It isn’t sharper but it does help to differentiate text so it might appear to stand out better.

Kinda like drop shadow then, just all the way around evenly. Makes sense.

    thanks.
