  • What is meant by pod-friendly podcasts?

    Hi
The podcast page mentions “The podcast has some episodes which are audio-only and some which are pod-friendly video tutorials.”

Just curious to know before downloading any of them, what is meant by pod-friendly videos? I don’t have iPod, can I still see the videos on my PC or only the audio will be available? All files there I guess have mp4 extension, how could I know which are iPod friendly and which are not?

Too many questions, but I guess others will also gain some knowledge on this.

More than likely, that is the term for video that has been specifically compressed to an mp4 format for playback on an iPod. Aside from that, I’ve no idea what would make a video non-pod friendly.

You’re right on the money. Pod-friendly videos mean they’re ready for the video iPod without any extra compression steps. An example of a non-Pod-friendly video would be a video in an incompatible format or resolution that that would first need conversion before it could be watched on an iPod.
