  • What is best project setting (in FCP) ?

    Hi all,
I just got the 100B this week and have been playing around with it. What a fantastic camera….I’m blown away. I have a question about the proper project setting in FCP. What is the correct way to set up a project if shooting in 24p? Should I use the easy setup? if so should I pick ‘Cinema tools 24fps from DV NTSC’ or ‘DV-NTSC 24P (23.98)? I did a test by importing 24P footage in to a project that was set up for regular interlaced video (DV NTSC) and one that was set up as an easy set up DV NTSC 24P (23.98). I could not tell any difference between the two,,,they both looked good.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    Hi Noah,
I don’t mean to be redundant….I just want to make sure I have it right….so if I just want to edit the 24P stuff in FCP and then go back out to tape, I don’t need to do anything different with my sequence preset (now set to DV NTSC 48KHz)?
Thanks alot for your help by the way.

Might want to re-read that article. It really depends what you plan to do. If you are not caring about a 24p native output ever then cut with the standard DV NTSC settings. But actually cutting at 24p gives you the most options for example a native 24p DVD or a filmout.
