I am attempting to transfer a portion of material used in an episode from a series on to an external hard drive for an editor to use offsite.

I need to find out if the total combined size of all the reference clips used in the episode timeline exceeds the remaining capacity of my hard drive.

My theory is that just like with the transcode or import option, if you attempt to consolidate a selection of clips on to a volume that lacks the capacity, it will tell you this before starting the operation. Is that the case? Or will it attempt to fit all it can and then tell me at the last minute when it’s too late?
