What happens if I progressive clips are flagged as upper field in a progressive sequence?
Hi there,
I have been converting XDCAM clips to Prores 422 LT through MPEG streamclip. Without noticing, when I imported them into FCP it had flagged them as upperfield.
I put them in a HD sequence with field order set to none and compression set to Pro Res 422 LT.Now from what i’ve heard from others, I cannot simply just change the field order on the clips in the browser as that wont affect the clips already in my timeline. I did find the XML work around and so I know how to fix it, via a text editor BUT..
What I wanted to know was, is there a problem with having them flagged upper field? I work off a progressive TV and I havent seen any issues, but the footage is destined for DVD later on, and I wanted to know if there will be noticeable issues on a interlaced monitor (I dont have access to one right now)
Any thoughts on what happens if its flagged as upperfield, even when it is actually progressive footage
