Hey guys a couple of years back i remember messing around with keyframing paths (masks), and copy pasting different shapes from illustrator into a solid in AE and pasting different shapes at different KF, making these really cool morpth like animations, i can’t seem to be able to do tat now, I’m still using AE 6.5, and illustrator CS, does anyone seem to know what’s up?

In the prefs there is a setting for copy/paste data. If it’s in the newer version (pdf i think?) it won’t work. Must set it to the older version. You’ll see what I’m saying. Sorry i’m not in front of AI right now so I can’t give you the names of everything, but thought I’d point you in the direction.

The preferences section is called “File handling and clipboard”. You have to make sure the AICB format is on There’s no need to turn off the other (PDF) option, though.
