In my latest version of Motion, I’ve noticed that you no longer have Pan and Scale controls for the Drop Zone. I used these ALL THE TIME for FCP X templates. Is there a way to get them back? Is it a bug or a new “feature”? What’s going on?

    Hi Brett,

I have not noticed this problem. In the Properties Tab of the Drop Zone you are still able to add a publish Scale and Position for the drop zone. Alternately if you double click on a drop zone in FCPX you should get handles to scale and move the drop zone…

Not sure if this is a help or a hindrance…

That’s really handy to know. But unfortunately doesn’t help with template development as the end user may be unaware of that function.

It is definitely gone in 5.4.1. It was there in 5.4. Hopefully it’s an oversight. I’ll probably try to go back to 5.4 if I can.

The bug is still there in 5.4.2. The workaround is pretty easy. You just have to drop something in the Drop Zone in Motion. You can publish the parameters then and then Clear the Image. Controls will disappear but will still be sent to you FCP X template.
