Greetings All. I have a Symphony system, 4.8 and do alot of encoding. (don’t we all). I’m either making WMV files for the web or DVD’s of the project of the day. The question I have for all of you is, what encoding software do you use? I use procoder 2.0, and I have to say its really really slow when working with QT files refrence or otherwise.

In my expereince it runs about 25% realtime when encoding to MPEG2 or 30% realtime when encoding WMV’s. What are you guys using and are you getting better results with speed? Does a product like Squeeze do both MPEG and WMV’s? I need a better solution.

    Thanks

    Brent

Dunno your CPU, but in draft settings (for dailies) you should get about RT performance.
For MpegII i use Cinemacraft. The cheapo version should fit your needs and is dirt cheap. It should give you RT at least. Also try TMPG encoder, also dirt cheap and does MpegII and WMV RT to faster than RT.
    If not, upgrade your CPU.

    Hi,

Try Sorenson Squeeze. It ships with Adrenaline now-a-days too.
