  What does changing the channel mapping of a sequence affect?

  If you right click Modify>Audio channels on any clip or sequence it brings up the channel mapping menu.

  I know that if you change the channel mapping for a clip, it will affect how the audio is laid out when you place it in a sequence.

  But I’ve tried changing it for a sequence, even to something completely different like remapping a 5 stereo track sequence to a single mono track.

  But when I do that it does not seem to change anything about the audio behavior of that sequence. Even if I use that sequence as a source, the track layout will be the same regardless of the channel mapping. Nothing appears to change in exports either.

  So I’m just slightly confused about what this does.
