    Hi,

I edited a twelve minute piece in Final Cut Express and used Yousendit.com to post it, then sent the link to the intended recepient. The posting worked because I could view
it (and I was very pleased, big screen size, good quality, would have been way too big a file to e-mail and You-Tube is too public) but my friend couldn’t download it.

In Final Cut Express I tested exporting with QuickTime Conversion using AVI (I think that’s Windows?) and MPEG-4 files. They looked lousy to me (but maybe that’s because
I looked at them on a Mac?) Is anybody familiar with this workflow (Final Cut Express -QuickTime – Yousendit.com link) and what should I do to convert my timeline?

What format is right to post for a Windows person to download and will the quality hold up?

If anybody could help, it would be a big help! Thanks.

FCE lists Windows Media as one of many conversion options, but you CAN’T do it unless you have a third party conversion software, like Flip4Mac (flip4mac.com). If you don’t already own the free version, you will have to buy the WMV Studio version for $49. Follow the instructions carefully. It’s not like buying a typical download/install software file. There are several steps and a potential 20-30 minute waiting period before you can use it after download. (See Tom Wolsky for more details.) Good luck.

Have your friend download Quicktime player ( it’s a free download) –As I understand flip4Mac is used to play Windows Media files on a Mac
