    Hello everyone!

I have to get SonyVegas project to DavinciResolve for color correction. SonyVegas running on PC and Davinci running on Mac. I want to render as high quality video as possible and then use Davinci scene detection. What is the best format and codec for render? I need to best quality for color correction.

    Thank you!

What is the original camera codec and what are your timeline settings?

That can cover a lot of territory and the second respondent’s followup question is relevant —

Would it make sense to export a fully uncompressed 10 or 12-bit full-RGB dpx sequence if your origination was some 8-bit Long-GOP acquisition codec? Because the damage has already been done, and shipping a muffin in an oil tanker won’t improve the situation. One of the in-between codecs like ProRes (out of this equation because of Vegas/Sony/Windows) or DnXHD would be a good choice.
