I am converting DVCPRO HD 1080i60 from FCP to run on a PC Avid. What is the best quality codec I could use? I have to convert because the Avid running on a PC does not recognize DVCPRO HD 1080i60. I am only transfering video to do color correction, so no audio.

    DNxHD 10bit?
    Animation?
    Photo-JPEG?

    Please help-

Install the Avid codecs on your FCP system and export to the Avid DV100 codec. It’s their wrapper for the DVCProHD codec.

    Michael.

Or buy Raylight Decoder and install it on your PC. It will decode the DVCProHD codec. Download the demo to see if it will work for you.

Thanks Michael. I will try it that way. How would you export it from Avid to put it back into FCP? I have to finish sound and a few tweaks back in FCP since that is the system I have at home and it needs to be off the Avid. I would like to keep the best quality image possible. I know this is a lot of back and forth compression, but so goes the project.

    Thanks,
    Josh
