  What are Trimmed folders?

  I know this is extremely basic but can someone explain to me what the folders are that Premiere is creating in the Finder, called “Trimmed_(project name)”? Inside the folders are what appear to be new versions of the project file and I don’t know how I’m supposed to use them or deal with them.

  Background: I’m a newbie only to Premiere but not to editing. I’ve been an editor for many years using many different systems and I recently decided to move over to Premiere from Final Cut Pro. I’ve been doing the Lynda tutorials and reading a lot online and I’ve begun my first edit. But I haven’t been able to find the answer to what seems to be a very basic newbie question… So, thanks in advance.
