Hi! First, thanks to those who helped create the calf side of the cow (though I don’t like being thought of as a calf, I know this is the place for my ‘learning’ questions, so I appreciate it…).

I’m editing a 2-camera multiclip in the timeline. I’ve read the manual, and it seems that all that is necessary to select the active angle is hit the keyboard short cut (a 1 or 2) to switch angles. This seems to work – the markers show up on the timeline & the new angle is highlighted after every keystroke – but as soon as I stop playback the markers disappear @ I’m left with the last angle selected as the active one for the whole clip.

I’m beginning to think that I may have assumed too much about switching; I feel that the intention of that tool is for use in ‘direct-to-tape’ cuts whereas I has assumed it was a clean way of selecting angles for easy tweaking afterwards. I can of course use the Cut Video selections instead, but I’d rather keep in the Switching realm (unless I’ve misunderstood the procedure). Your wisdom is appreciated.

You are misunderstanding. Switch does what you’re seeing. It simply switches the angle. To actually edit you need to cut.

    All the best,

    Tom
