weird problem with blending mode in AE7
heey guys,
i’m having a bit of a problem with the blending mode option, such as “add” “color burn” etc.
i can choose between al of them, but when i choose for example “add” of “color burn” or “darken” for my text layer onto a green solid (and yes, the text layer is above it), then nothings happening. this is with all the blending mode effects, very spooky if you ask me,
AE7 is very stable, never had problems on my pc.
what could be the problem?thanxs,

White text on an unstructured background is not going to show any changes in these modes – all pixels are already at their maximum brightness, so there is no way for AE to make them even brighter. Change the text color.

okey, no text, bad example, other solid than with a rectangular mask tool to the half of it, then feather it a bit, then try those blending modes, then the won’t work.i found the solution to this problem anyway, YOU CAN’T CHOOSE BETWEEN THOSE BLENDING MODES, EN APPLY THEM , WHEN YOU HAVE OPENGL RENDER/PREVIEUW SETTING ON, VERY WEIRD. BUT THANXS ANYWAY

In that case the bad guy is your graphics card. Those blending modes are supported in OpenGL by AE itself (only 2 or 3 are not and they are exotic ones).
