  Weird massive artifacts when importing sony avc mp4 file

  So, i’m having this strange issue where Vegas just keeps adding a bunch of useless artifacts to a source mp4 file which is itself perfectly fine in quality. The weird thing is that these artifacts are restricted to a narrow timeframe of roughly 5 seconds as well, it’s not like Vegas screws over the entire file. This is basically the first time i’ve encountered this problem too, and allthough i could finish my project with said artifacts i’d still like to know nonetheless what causes it, and if there’s a fix to revert it back to the original status of the source file.

  I’m using Movie Studio Platinum HD 10.0 btw, and the codec is Sony AVC.
