I have a strange thing happening in Premiere. I’m working with nested sequences. At random times, certain clips (nested sequences) will act strangely: for any amount of time, maybe a few frames, the clip (not the entire layer) will act as if it’s invisible, revealing the layer(s) below it. The only way to fix this is by deleting the clip from the timeline and then undoing that action. However, it comes back whenever I either visit a different sequence or undo an action I made in a different sequence. This is the best way I feel I can describe this issue, it’s incredibly weird. Thank you for any help.

    Hey Matthew,

Trash your renders and preferences first.

    If that doesn’t help:
It could be many things, but often I find in nested sequences that it is either a track that is not extended to cover the entire part of the nest itself (Sudden “blank” holes appears).

Also worth checking if you have copied and pasted elements inside the nested track, and they somehow have switched tracks inside the nest – that is really fun to investigate. To speed it up, you can have two or more timelines (sequences) stacked open simultaneously. If you have a timeline that is the last good known version, return to that to make compare with.

It could also be a random “blend mode” setting changed on a clip. In which case you need to click the clip and look at the Effects Control panel.

Best advice is to render that part of timeline In-Out, or export the clip, to find out whether it is a random bug, or if it happens on the same spot.

Not sure that any of the above was helpful, but there are smarter people around here who will know better.

Thanks, I’ll try these things and see what happens. Appreciate the help.

Man thats actually convenient. I have been deleting the nest and just……. re aligning it on the timeline from the bins. for some reason man for some reason. I just never did think about deleting and undoing😀
