Weird flashing black in highlights? Luminosity Histogram?
We just acquired a new camera- Panasonic HPX3100; the files are AVC-Intra and were imported natively (which then run as quicktimes) through FCP 7.03. We are running snow leopard 10.6.8.
There is a Kona Card 3 with the latest firmware/upgrades running on the system. On some of the AVC-Intra transferred files (and on none of the other material…like tape origin .mov) we’re getting a strange flashing black- almost digital blocks in the very bright white highlights of certain shots. Has anyone seen this before? I thought maybe it was a kind of Histogram- or luminosity/white-clip indicator new to FCP 7.03. But we have not found anywhere to turn this effect off. Having viewed the material on a monitor, as well as other FCP- laptop systems- it’s not visible.Does anyone know how to shut this effect off? Or know why it might be appearing at all- especially on bright highlights of the AVC-Intra based material. Thanks a lot.
