Weird Blackmagic audio issue
I’m using CS 5.5 with Decklink HD Extreme on a Windows 7, i7 980 6 core CPU, 12GB Ram, etc. etc.
The system is built to specs for Blackmagic hardware and Premiere CS 5.5 software. The problem is that when I create ANY timeline using Blackmagic as the audio device, 48khz audio plays ok in the timeline, but if I try to play or trim in the trim window, I get stuttered or staccato playback. 44kz audio clips work fine. All the audio is 16bit, as the Blackmagic device doesn’t support 24 or 32 bit audio.
27 year veteran here, 16 year facility owner, have built dozens of NLE systems from fully hardware driven systems (Harris Velocity and Grass Valley Edius mainly), to multiple Premiere and Vegas combination software hardware card setups…and for the life of me cannot figure out what the issue could be, other than flaky Blackmagic drivers. I get no joy from contacting Blackmagic although I’ve read probably hundreds of posts on multiple forums about driver issues with all the hardware I/O cards on CS 5.5.
Any suggestions appreciated.
