  Weird behaviour of control point handles

  Im editing control points on an animated mask. Sometimes I lose one of the handles on a control point, and cant get it back. I try changing to linear, then change back to smooth, and sometimes that will give me back both handles. Other times, it wont change back to smooth and I have to undo. Can anyone tell me whats going on? Some sort of glitch??
