weird After Effects glitch

I am geeting this werd glitch on all my ae projects
any ideas how to get rid of it?PS its not a data glitch plugin

What kind(s) of source footage?
Has this ever worked before?

hello
this started just today
and spread on both AE cs5 and cs6
I tried disabling open gl
i am runnig os x 10.6.8
everything was great up to this point
