I’ve got a project with a ring of 3D layers. Nice perfect circle on frame 0.

They’re all attached to a Null object which rotates a full revolution around the Y axis over 2 sec.

    Simple rotating wheel thingy…

Except as the ring of layers rotates it changes shape into an oval. I can’t figure out for the life of me what idiotic thing I’ve done. If you interested in looking at the project it’s at:

    https://www.digitalanarchy.biz/da_junk/tunnel_bug.aep

Compare frame 0 to where the Marker is (Null is rotated about 90 degrees) and you can see the thing squash down into an oval if you’re looking from top view.

I don’t get it. :/ Square, non-square pixels don’t make a difference, the Null is in the center of the ring, there’s no keyframes other than the rotation on the Null, Anchor Points are where they should be, so I’m really stumped.

If you have a clue let me know…

    thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,

The problem appears to be that Null 6 is defined with non-square pixels. Change the PAR of the Null and the ring (of rings) becomes an oval which moves consistently. Change the PAR of the tunnel comp to square pix as well and the ring becomes a perfect circle.
