I was wondering if anyone has made a live web stream from the PMW-EX30 i.Link port? What encoding software do you use?

I know about the video format menu setting for i.Link to be active.

If you send DV or HDV out the firewire port you can use Telestream Wirecast (see forum on the COW). I don’t have EX30 but it certainly worked with EX1. It installs a sort of built in server if you don’t have heavy bandwidth needs or you can announce to an external Quicktime or Darwin streaming server. Wowza will convert it to streaming Flash if you want to go that route.

Of course if you have tight budget constraints you could always send out DV to Mogulus or Ustream. I’ve used Mogulus with DV gear though only. EX1 doesn’t output DV out of firewire yet.
