    Hey guys,

I am trying to make a header for my website. It is a video production company, so I have three camera lenses facing upwards as my header. The last one has a green lens. I would like to create the appearance of a bursting green shaft of light shooting upwards from the last camera lens to make my header look cool. Anyone have any ideas or tutorials?

    Thanks,

    Allen

I’m not sure I know exactly what you’re looking for. When I think of a shaft of light, I think of a lightsaber sort of effect, something like this:

If that is indeed what you’re going for, then the method I used was to create a gradient with an opaque green color in the middle, going to 0% opacity on both sides. If this isn’t what you’re going for, perhaps you could explain how it is incorrect and I’ll see if I can work out some other means of achieving your desired effect?
