Weaving effect
So I’m running Creative Cloud After Effects and I need to make a weaving effect of quite a few ribbons. My current work around is to create a small segment, rotate it in Z space, and combine a bunch of these into a zig zag pattern. But that’s taking forever and is resulting in weird connections
Is there any easier way to make a sinusoidal wave in 3D space? If I could even puppet warp in Z space I could make the effect work, but I can’t figure out how.

There’s more than one way to do this: draw a path and use write on effect to create one element and then use FreeForm Pro or ShapeShifter A(the Generator inside) to multiply and offset instances of the same weave.
Use 3D Serpentine from Zaxwerks.
Create a shape in AE or AI and use a mask to reveal it, precomp and then use Trapcode Echospace tp multiply and animate (offset) them.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

Ooh, 3D serpentine looks fun…I actually forgot about Cinema 4D Lite in the new AE, so that’s working perfectly at the moment. Thanks much!
