  • Way to zoom up on Lightning effect?

Posted by John Stanowski on September 22, 2011 at 6:20 am

I was wondering if there was a way to zoom into AE’s Lightning effect. When I use a camera to zoom in, the lightning gets pixelated. Same thing happens if I scale the lightning layer up. I don’t see any way to scale the lightning itself in the controls. Any ideas?

Apply Lightning to a solid that’s larger than the comp size, either push the solid back in 3D space, or scale it down for the beginning of your animation.

Yeah, that’s what I wound up doing. Wish there was a way to sort of “continuously rasterize” the lightning effect. Thanks.
