As we know, MS has not put anything into further developments to their Mac web browser for years. Has Apple dropped developing Safari? I have been forced to use Firefox because some one wanted to bother me with the obnoxious IM thing while editing and Safari did not support it. Now that I have used Foxfire it seems Apple has dropped the ball for those of use who use the Apple branded web browser, what gives??

I don’t think any Mac using tech-hipsters use Safari. everyone uses Firefox.

So Safari doesn’t support some “obnoxious IM thing.” I hardly think that proves that Apple has given up on Safari. Remember that they tend to upgrade the program along with the OS which means a new version will be included with Leopard in the Spring.

Also, suggest Skype to your friend. It’s a cross-platform IM program that probably works better than anything web-based.

Which is to our benefit. Not just because it’s annoying, but because this would be a security hole. Viruses & other malware can use this ‘feature’ in IE on Windows to lodge themselves into your PC. Why leave the door open?
