    Hi guys!

    My first post here…

I am fairly new to AE and was wondering how easy it would be to create a grid of dots that i could animate?

For example, having them all go bigger and then back to their original size in a sort of mexican wave? And then being able to fade them or move them in various directions.

I’m able to create a grid in PS and import but that is a very static overlay that i can manipulate?

I hope this isn’t too simple and i’ve missed something obvious!

    Thanks
    Alex

It would be pretty easy to do using a particle system, like Trapcode Form. After that, you might try using the shape layers and repeaters.

A simpler way that might work is to use the Card Dance effect that is built into AE. Here’s a tutorial on using Card Dance
