Waveforms are not visible in either Edit or Fairlight. Sound plays, but no waveforms. “Show Full Waveform” is toggled on. I have searched the problem on the forum and as suggested checked that all permissions are read/write (even tho DR tells me they aren’t, but it does seem to be able to retrieve projects OK). I have even done the very arcane High Sierra home folder permission repair. My top item in the preference Media list points to CacheClip.

Any and all suggestions really needed!

    Many thanks

Which version of Resolve? What OS? What hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, I/O)? What type of camera and audio source files?

I had the same problem (although initially I didn’t), and just today I was playing with that “timeline view options” adjustment where you choose to show the waveforms. In the selection I had it in, there was no waveform in the timeline, but when I switched to another one, the first one, I think, the waveform suddenly appeared. My advice is to play with that setting until you get the waveform.

That’s in the Edit page. I had no problem showing the waveform on the Fairlight page.

Thanks. I did finally get the waveform back for the most critical jobs. And yes, it just took a lot of fiddling around
