You should just be able to import a wav file, but if you do want to convert it to an aiff, just bring it into itunes to convert it (which I often do for mp3s).

FCP wouldn’t recognize it as an importable file and it wouldn’t open in itunes. I dragged it into Peak Express and it opened perfectly. I exported it to FCP as a an itunes file. A little trial and error solved the problem.
